Alliance, the. The four races, Man, Elf, Dwarf and Gnome that fought against the evil of Ravengaard and his minions.
Amulet of Hidden Ways. Magical yellow stone, one of the Arcs of Heaven, given to the Gnomes at the end of the war. Worn in an amulet by the

                                          Gnome Warlord Shabur Varg. Opens hidden pathways (ley lines) allowing the user to travel almost instantaneously

                                          between destinations.
Annwn Deep. (An’oon) Kingdom of the Dwarves. Entered through one of the nine portals hidden in the caves of the Warlocks Chair.

Arcs of Heaven. Four magical gemstones gathered by Talberon Rykar, used to banish Ravengaard to the Dark Kingdom. See, The Amulet of

                             Hidden Ways, The Starheart, The Moonblade and The Daybringer Staff. They were split between the four races of the alliance at

                             the end of the war.
Bael’Vanna. The. Elven Gods of the woodlands.
Bredock Holt. Gnome Hunter, friend of the Giant Eldon.
Brigands of Zigmal. Group of Gnomes (and others) ruled by Shabur Varg.
Brone. Dwarf King who agreed to take the Daybringer Staff on behalf of the Dwarves.
Brothers of the Raven. Cult dedicated to bringing Ravengaard back to earth.
Cadoc. Elven hunter.
Caen Avery Oryxicus. King of the Elves
Caranaxus. Dark Witch. One of Ravengaard’s acolytes. Half sister of Ceridwen.
Ceridwen. White Witch. Half sister of Caranaxus.
Ceradin Ravengaard. Warlock. Seeks to escape the Evermurk to take revenge on those that he thinks wronged him.
Chained. The. Race of daemons.
Coblyn. The River. River that flows across the valley.
Coblynbridge. Small village nestling in the lee of the Warlocks Chair. comprising of a dozen houses, the church, a pub and a couple of shops, one

                         doubling as the post office.
Corachod. (Welsh) Dwarves.
Crown of Darkest Thoughts.
Dagan Thayn. Commander of the Brigands of Zigmal. (A Changeling creature.)
Dauld Oryxicus. Prince of the Elves.
Daybringer. One of the Arcs of Heaven. A magical crystal gemstone given to the Dwarves at the end of the war. They set it in a staff that was used

                     as a badge of office by the Dwarven Kings until the power nearly drove one mad. Stored away for safe keeping by Jorin Thorl the

                     Keeper of the Dwarf Histories.
Dwarves. One of the faerie races of the Alliance. Stonesmiths. After the battle to defeat Ravengaard they moved underground. see Annwn Deep,

                 Hammerforge.  
Eldon. Last of the Cewri. Giant 3 Meters tall. Broad shoulders, muscular. Long dark hair and beard. Pale blue eyes. Broadsword, bow, fighting staff. 

Ellyonia. Land of the Elves. Reached through the Veil, the portal that separates the Elven Empire from the lands of man.
Elves. One of the faerie races of the alliance.

Etran Darkiron. Baron Darkiron, last warrior baron on the old kingdom. Given the Starheart one of the Arcs of Heaven on behalf of mankind, used it

                           to build himself an empire. Sent mad by the power of the stone.

Evergreen. City of the Elves. Hidden behind The Veil deep in Whytewytch Wood.

Evermurk, The Dark Abode. Dimension where Ravengaard was banished.
Fenrirr. She wolf dog belonging to Ceridwen.
Forest Troll. Ugly misshapen beings. Wood like hide covered in fungus and moss. Usually wears a hooded cloak when venturing out of its territories.
Frostblade. Magical blade given to George by the Elves. Warded by magic it as the appearance of a toy wooden sword. Emits beams of frost fire

                     when used by George.
Garak Vorn. Dwarf hero.
Gibolt. Dwarf warrior.
Gnomes. One of the faerie races of the alliance. see Yar-Atgur.

Goblyns. Squat ugly creatures, about 1.2m (4ft) tall. Covered in dark hair. Walk upright on goat like legs, two toed, clawed feet. Three fingered

                clawed hands. Large dark eyes, yellow iris, heavy horned brow. Pointed jaws, sharp protruding  teeth. Wear rusted armour and oddments

                of cloth and leather.
Hafgan the Red. Great dragon of Annwn Deep. Driven from its cavern by the Dwarves. Some say it was killed, but other stories tell of it being driven

                             deeper, where even now it sleeps awaiting a time when the Dwarves are weakened and it can reclaim its burrows.

Moonblade. One of the Arcs of Heaven. A magical blue coloured gemstone given to the Elves at the end of the war. It was attached to a great sword

                      used by the Elven King Lowr Galadre. Able to absorb and store light from around itself transforming the blade into an energy weapon.

                      Also enhances strength and speed of the user.
Mor’Cirith. Homeland of the Stone Trolls.
Nyle. Elven hunter. Killed by rock fall while searching for Hammerforge, Lost City of the Dwarves.
Oaktooth. see The Whispering Tree.
Odeir Kwilt. Old Elf. Good friend who trained Malin Thrax in the art of hunting and war. 
Oryxicus. Elven royal family name.
Prime Tree. the.  Main tree in the Elven city of Evergreen. The Giver of Life.
Qidan Oria. Gnome scribe. Killed by Caranaxus in the search for the whereabouts of the missing spells.
Quikspit. Goblyn Battle Chieftain.
Ranzo Twyll. Gnome scribe. killed by Caranaxus in the search for the whereabouts of the missing spells.
Ravengaard Manor. Large house brought by the children’s parents. Built on the site of several castles and settlements. Including a castle belonging

                                    to Ceradin Ravengaard that was banished to the Evermurk.
Ravens Bane Keep. Dark castle home to Ceradin Ravengaard. Banished with him to  Evermurk, the Dark Domain.

Rhun Maelgwn. Evil Sorcerer one of Ravengaard’s acolytes. Wizard of the First Order.  Commander of the Brothers of the Raven.
Ring of the Unseen. Ring given to Danielle by the Elves. Gives the power of invisibility.
Riok. King of the Stone Trolls. Slain by Janah Tharl at the battle of Winter River. 

Ripcats. Cat like creatures used by Ravengaard and his minions to hunt down his enemies.
Rosewing. Princess Meriol Oryxicus. Nicknamed ‘Rosewing’ because of the colour of her wings.
Rythorn. Dwarf General. See Mard Rythorn.
Shabur Varg. Warlord of the Brigands of Zigmal. Obtained the Amulet of Hidden Ways one of the Arcs of Heaven. Uses it to plunder neighbouring

                        territories.
Shadow Amulet. one of the Circle of Endless Nights.
Sildo Gweir. Unelected leader of the Gnome scribes. Found the spells that would allow Ravengaard to return to earth but kept them hidden.

                      Tortured by Caranaxus until he revealed there whereabouts.
Sill. Elven hunter. Killed by Troll at the Battle of Ravensbane.

Slough-beast. Serpent-like creature. A Changeling, able to take the form of others. see Knucker.
Sorrow. Large Wolf Dog belonging to Ceridwen.
Spellcaster. Elven sorcerers. Knowledge of magic and the old ways. Keepers of the Elven histories.
Sscarr. Toad like familiar of Ravengaard’s.
Starheart, The. One of the Arcs of Heaven. A magical fiery red gemstone given to man at the end of the war. Sustains the life of the wearer. Projects

                           the thoughts of the wearer. Can help resurrect the dead. Form a protective shield - project beams of red magic as a weapon.
Stez Deytkal. Dwarf. High Marshal of the Dwarf Armies.
Strotordar. Dwarf. Captain of the Border Guard. (deceased)
Talberon Rykar. Powerful Wizard who gathered together the Arcs of Heaven.
Tayn. Elven hunter.
The Veil. Wall of magic separating the Elven Kingdom from the modern world.
Thornfury. A creation of Ravengaard’s. An almost unstoppable, mindless creature. Mystically created from the poisonous detritus of the forest.
Tibor Grist. Gnome in the pay of Shabur Varg.
Urien Hir. Gnome scribe held prisoner by Ravengaard, helped search for the missing spells that would allow the warlock to return to the world. Tried

                  to bargain his life in return for the location of the spells. Killed by Caranaxus.  
Valan Altard. Elven Spellcaster.
Vamar. Gnome God of Battle.
Vaun. Elven hunter.
Veil, the. The barrier that separates the Elven Kingdom from the modern world.
Vildar. Gnome warrior. The Brigands of Zigmal.
Vultaur Syth. Gnome Warlord.

Wand of Eternal Flame, the. Mystical wand given to Jessica by the Elves, warded by magic it looks like a plastic toy. But used to amplify Jessica’s

                                                 natural magic it becomes a very powerful weapon.
Warlocks Chair, The. Area on the English/Welsh border. So call, because from certain angles in looks like a large armchair.
Whispering Tree, the. Sentient tree. Oldest living thing in Whytewytch Wood. able to speak, font of knowledge.

Wind Arrows. Magical shafts of pure force given to Danielle by the Elves. When fired from Elven bow rarely miss their target.
Wyther. Goblyn Battle Chieftain.
Wrai. Elven warrior. Killed by Ravengaard during the mission to rescue Rosewing.
Wyvern. Dragon like. Red scales, wide spiky head, yellow eyes, long spiked tail. Black forked tongue, rows of needle-like fangs. Four legs armed with

               razor claws. Males are winged.
